My letter to the editor of the Providence Journal Bulletin today.
Marie Younkin-Waldman: More positive energy, please
01:00 AM EST on Monday, December 22, 2008
I agree with Martha Cruciani from Warwick’s Dec. 16 letter. The news everywhere, in the papers, on the radio and television, is becoming overwhelmingly focused on the negative: economy, crime, foreign affairs, etc.
Reading such material can dampen readers’ outlook for life in general and pull one down. Right now we need to bolster each other
If times are going to be tough, the tough need to get going by shoring up their energy and courage. My recent cable television show (Tea with Marie) focused on beauty, gentility and tranquility to search out the positive and the talent in Rhode Island as inspiration to others.
Perhaps The Journal could be a trend setter and establish a section of the front page as a “positive corner” to help readers try to keep a little balance in their lives and help us all move on with tranquility into this uncertain world.
